Vista and its employees take pride in being a locally-owned company and working with many clients who care about our environment and our community.  Vista’s goal is to improve our practices to ensure we are minimizing our environmental impact.  We will do this through energy conservation, support for clean energy, waste reduction, incentive for mass transit, selection of environmentally friendly vendors and products, and other responsible measures.  We hope to lead by example.

How we will achieve our goal:

• Purchase Green Tags from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation and other suppliers that offset 100% of Vista’s electricity usage.  These Renewable Energy Credits help offset the carbon dioxide our organization emits by supporting the development of clean wind and solar power as well as watershed restoration.
• Encourage reduced car travel by subsidizing transit passes.
• Encourage participation in SOLV clean-up events through additional paid time off.
• Place recycling boxes at all workstations.
• Buy printer/copier paper with at least 35% post-consumer recycled content.
• Reuse single-sided paper.
• Minimize paper use through use of e-mail, electronic documents, web sites, document routing and central file storage.
• Remove business and employees names from unwanted mail lists.
• Buy remanufactured ink and toner cartridges.
• Recycle empty ink and toner cartridges.
• Use durable dishware.
• Recycle paper products as well as other materials (i.e. aluminum cans, bottles and cardboard).
• Purchase "green" office supplies when possible and buy in bulk.
• Donate surplus office supplies, computers and furniture.
• Buy office equipment or appliances that have the Energy Star label.
